Allison and Lillia

Seen: completely

Last Updated: Sep 22, 2011

7.75 (good) Allison and Lillia stands out from most other anime series thanks to its focus on plot, drama, and character development. This series is one of the most calming adventure/action type anime I've seen, and I'm not saying that in a bad way. Allison and Lillia keeps a great pace throughout the timeline, so you never feel as though you're focusing on one aspect of the series for too long. Another thing I really enjoyed about this series is the character development throughout the timeline. We start with two young, curious adolescents and watch them grow into mature, independent adults. It's a heartwarming series, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who's looking for something new and soothing to watch.

Angel Beats!

Seen: completely

Last Updated: Oct 11, 2011

9.25 (very good) Angel Beats! is one of those special series you only come across every once in a blue moon. Angel Beats! holds a balanced amount of comedy, drama, and action to keep the viewer watching throughout the series. All of the characters are likable, the plot is unique and interesting, the animation is smooth, and the music isn't half bad, either. I would definitely recommend this series to a friend.

Angel Sanctuary

6.00 (average) Angel Sanctuary is a great read for anyone who enjoys a darker story. The artwork is absolutely beautiful with details spreading from panel to panel. One thing that really makes this series stand out is the dark and detailed plot Kaori created. It's not every day I find a series that's this well written with all of the perfect elements needed to create an involved struggle between heaven and hell.

9.25 (very good) This series really takes you back with nostalgia, making you remember all of the fun and innocent things you used to do as a child. This series is incredibly touching and emotional thanks to the diverse group of characters confronting their past and present issues. I will warn that this series is not meant for those who can't handle some sad moments.

Ao no Exorcist

6.75 (above average) Where to begin... Well let me just start off by saying I'm a super fan of the manga series by Katou Kazue, however I am not very supportive with my opinions when it comes to the anime by Aniplex. The anime's plot is sloppy, rushed, cliche, and it seems to contradict itself in some parts. The manga, however, is presented in a way that you can't wait until Kazue releases the next chapter.

10.00 (excellent) Arakawa Under the Bridge is one of the quirkiest series I've ever come across. Simple, subtle, and hilarious are the only words I can think of to define this series. If you're looking for a good laugh, I would definitely recommend picking this series for your next watch. The characters and plot situations are to die for!

Bakemonogatari

Last Updated: Oct 11, 2011

8.25 (good) Bakemonogatari is another of Shaft's quirky series that I can't seem to get enough of. The cast of characters are likable, and they each have different and interesting back stories as to how they came to be. One of my favorite aspects about this series is the smooth animation and the unique angles the shots decide to take.

7.25 (above average) A very nice twist on the popular vampire theme. I would consider this to be one of the best vampire series I've seen in anime, actually. I really like the pace at which this series kept up with, along with the plot twists and mysterious character pasts.
